IUG – International University Global Pathway Programme

The University of West Alabama (UWA) is a respected state-supported public university in Alabama, United States, governed by a Board of Trustees appointed by the governor. About the IUG Programme
 
 
The International University Global (IUG) Programme is an academic transfer and progression pathway designed to make international higher education more accessible, flexible, and cost-effective.
 
This pathway enables students to:
 
• Begin their studies in Bangladesh through an authorised IUG study centre
• Follow a curriculum aligned with the partner university’s academic standards
• Earn transferable academic credits
• Transfer to the University of West Alabama in the United States (optional pathway)
• Graduate with a recognised international degree
 
The program is structured to support students academically, financially, and culturally as they prepare for global higher education opportunities.
2+2 Transfer Pathway
This is the most common undergraduate pathway.
• First 2 Years: Study in Bangladesh through the IUG partner study centre
• Final 2 Years: Transfer to the UWA campus in Alabama, USA
• Outcome: Bachelor’s degree awarded by the University of West Alabama
 
This pathway allows students to complete foundational academic coursework locally before transitioning to the U.S. campus experience.
1+1 Graduate Pathway
This pathway is generally applicable to selected postgraduate programmes.
• First Year: Complete initial coursework in Bangladesh
• Final Year: Transfer to UWA to complete programme requirements
• Outcome: Master’s degree awarded by the University of West Alabama
 
This model supports working professionals and international students seeking a flexible graduate study route.
Full Programme Pathway (Available in Bangladesh)
Under the IUG framework, students may have the opportunity to complete their full academic program in Bangladesh through an authorised study centre, depending on program structure and institutional collaboration.
 
Key features of this pathway include:
• Students can start and complete the entire degree programme locally
• Curriculum delivery follows internationally aligned academic standards
• Academic quality assurance, assessment methods, and programme monitoring are maintained in collaboration with the partner university
• Students may have the option to transfer to the U.S. campus or other international campuses at any stage of study
• Upon successful completion, students receive a degree awarded or academically recognized by the partner university, subject to programme approval.
